South Philly Barbacoa
Brooklyn // 1.14

James Beard Award-winning Chef Christina Martínez is an international barbacoa sensation, and she’s bringing her adored specialty to Nimbus in Brooklyn on Saturday. With over 40 years of experience making this dish, according to the Philadelphia Citizen, you won’t just be eating extraordinarily delicious meat, handmade tortillas, and fresh salsa, should you order; you’ll be eating history. Martínez began making barbacoa at age six in Capulhuac, Mexico, and she has since become a legend of the pop-up game, starting South Philly Barbacoa out of an apartment in Philadelphia in 2014, before opening Casa Mexico in 2020, which won her the James Beard Award for the best chef in the Mid-Atlantic in 2022. Pre-orders are required, and you can find all the links and details by clicking the taco below.

Vietnamese Coffee Crème Brûlée Doughnut
West Village // 1.13-1.15

I don’t know about you, but I want to bury my face in that doughnut 😍 This doughnut drop will make your regular morning cup of Joe a lil bit jealous. It’s filled with velvety Vietnamese coffee pastry cream, which utilizes strong coffee and sweetened condensed milk. A brûléed top sweetens the deal with its sugary crackle that gives way to a light, pillowy dough. It’s only available through Sunday and you can tap the coffee and doughnut below for all the info.

Florida Water Gumbo Edition
Bushwick // 1.17

Chopped” champion Kia Damon’s dinner at Hart’s sold out within minutes, and we’re still crying. But thankfully, another opportunity has opened up to dive in to that Florida Water. Damon will be cooking a Floridian take on gumbo for this edition of her dinner series that highlights food from her home state. Finally something redeeming about Florida has hit the streets of Brooklyn. Tap the wave below for all the info.

Irwin’s
West Village // 1.16

Irwin’s is a Sicilian-inspired restaurant in Philadelphia that The Infatuation recently raved about for their pastas, swordfish milanese, and chicken that could induce happy tears. They will collab with Ed Szymanski’s nose-to-tail oasis Lord’s for one night only on Monday. A nose-to-tail Sicilian menu screams whole-animal cooking with top notch ingredients. Certainly it will top the restaurant at The White Lotus. (How come no one ever left the hotel to eat, anyway? We’ll never understand.) According to an instagram post, Chicken liver ragu, sardines, rabbit agrodolce, and fritto misto are on the menu. Tap the 🤌 below for all the info.

Fonzie’s Pizza Pop-Up
West Village // Thursdays

Chef Ed Cotton who you may recognize from Top Chef, Iron Chef, and Beat Bobby Flay, is running a pizza pop-up out of West Village favorite Jack & Charlie’s 118 on Thursdays. He’s slinging a cross between New York and Neapolitan-style pizza according to The Infatuation. Hence, this is the pizza version of going to the zoo to see a liger. The use of a wood-fired oven nods to the Neapolitan style while an ultra-thin, charred golden-brown crust means each slice won’t have much flop in the typical New York style. Tap the pizza below for all the info.
