Gangjin
Leo
Chef Daniel Lee’s seafood-focused pop-up slid through Leo in Williamsburg on Monday with an a-la-carte menu that left us wondering if he keeps a pond in his kitchen? The unmatched freshness of the scallops, salmon, and tuna were made the star of their respective dishes; elevated, not overpowered by plate-lick worthy sauces and perfectly-cooked vegetables. Opportunities to build the perfect bite were aplenty. Delicate ribbons of king salmon wrapped around cooled sautéed leeks and a sweet beet with zingy ginger was a memorable bite. Followed by tuna spiced like galbi in lettuce wraps with spicy bean paste and pickled veg.
Chef Daniel pops up once every six weeks, so stay tuned on 8it to find out when the next one is 👀
