Vanilla Ice Cream Crème Brûlée Doughnut
West Village // 9.8-9.10
The Willy Wonka of doughnuts Leslie Polizzotto and her team is at it again fulfilling pastry fantasies. This time, it’s all the smooth, creamy, aromatic delight of vanilla ice cream transformed into a diplomat cream, stuffed inside a doughnut with a brûléed top. If our math is correct, that’s three desserts in one. Diplomat cream is lighter than pastry cream but richer than whipped cream, and the result is a delightfully oozy confection with a consistency similar to ice cream. Five Tastes
Williamsburg // 9.13
Chefs Kleber Gomez, Juan Vizeta and Cedric Gayon are Five Tastes, a pop-up with modern French and New American influence. Next Wednesday, they will be popping up at Wandering Barman, a Williamsburg cocktail bar offering five flashy cocktail pairings to match each course of food. In an interview with New Jersey Digest, Gayon remarked that Five Tastes’ inspiration begins with seasonality and using ingredients that are at their natural peak, so you can expect this five-course meal to be a catalog of end of Summer/early Fall flavors. There are still tickets left for the event including a chefs counter experience. Find all the info in the💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.
Vegan Night Market
Central Park // Tuesdays
Night Markets are known for highlighting some of the city’s best street food vendors and an overwhelming majority of them serve meat-based dishes. Vegan Night Market is going against the grain, celebrating vegan vendors in just about the best possible setting- Central Park. Even for non-vegans, going temporarily vegan is in style, as many are hopping on the meatless Monday trend. But Vegan Night Market offers a chance to get ahead of the curve and hop on the meatless Tuesday trend. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.
