The pop-up host with the most Regina’s Grocery on Orchard Street is importing Win Son and their famous breakfast sandwich from Brooklyn for a collab pop-up on Saturday. They’ll be saying howyadoin’ 🤌 to Win Son’s scallion pancake and egg with some smoked provolone, hot sopressata and Calabrian chili mayo. Make sure to eat your veggies- sun gold tomatoes with parm and golden sesame dressing and send a pic to mom. It’s time to kick off Latin Heritage Month with the most celebratory type of gathering, a food pop-up. Latin kitchen staple plug Loisa and Room Service International are joining forces with El Patio Truck for Somos Nueva York at The Woods in Williamsburg on Sunday. El Patio’s genius crossover dish- emapanada tacos will be on deck. Loaded up with fillings like cheeseburger, pernil, shrimp and spicy chicken, this hybrid of the portable food family could be a candidate for the next great food trend. Michelin Bib Gourmand LES Mediterranean restaurant and wine bar Sami & Susu recently expanded internally, opening from 12-4PM Tuesday through Saturday as The Pita Shop. Their armada of pitas including fillings like cauliflower, sabich, chicken, schnitzel and lamb kebab is joined by a special drop each week. This week, it’s lamb shoulder with tatziki, amba, chopped salad, red cabbage and tahini. This is absolutely the move for a grab and go power lunch on the Lower East Side. Chef Camila Rinaldi formerly of Manhatta, Olmsted and Estela is hosting a four-course dinner with DinnerTable in Brooklyn next Thursday. The Brazilian chef brings South American influence to the Asian cuisine she refined her skills with, and that fusion of flavors can be seen on the menu for this dinner. Grilled Hearts of Palm cashew butter, plantain and cilantro will be followed by a dumpling with duck, tucupi sauce and szechuan oil, beef cheeks and squash and cartola, a cheese-based Brazilian dessert from Pernambuco with banana flambé, coffee sauce and cinnamon.
