Must-Eat Food Pop-Ups & Drops in NYC 2.17-2.24

It’s NBA All-Star Weekend, so we’re alley ooping you three pop-ups and one dish drop that deserve to be on your lineup. We're not settling for culinary layups here; we're talking about between-the-leg Vince Carter level dunks of flavor. This week’s roster includes a rookie Chinese pop-up, NYC’s first Hawaiian musubi pop-up, a Filipino Lunar New Year party, and some limited dishin’ Lamb Wontons.

As always, this article is just a small taste of the pop-ups and drops you can find in the 8it app. Hit the green button at the bottom of this article to explore the 8it app.

Win Son x Mimi Cheng’s Lamb Wontons
Mimi Cheng’s Locations // Available all February

It’s like having Lebron and KD on the same team: it’s not really fair. Two NYC dining powerhouses, Win Son and Mimi Cheng’s, are collabing for a garlic-cured lamb wonton with chili crisp vinegar and there’s no way you’re grabbing any other kind of dumpling all February. These two are combining their penchants for flavor that are as automatic as the slim reaper’s mid-range game. Find all the info in the 🧨 Drops category on the 8it app.

Club Soda
Nolita // 2.18

Club Soda is a new pop-up on the scene making its first appearance in the Must-Eats like Jalen Brunson in this year’s All-Star Game. They will be at The Musket Room on Sunday slinging Lunar New Year-inspired Chinese dishes with a twist. In the same way you don’t expect Brunson to make Walt Frazier moves, don’t expect your typical dim sum at this pop-up. The menu features a fermented bean hamachi crudo, wagyu beef carpaccio, grilled bass with fermented chili and much more. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.

DILA
Carroll Gardens // 2.19

LJ Almendras is putting up numbers and stuffing the stat sheet with a menu of 8 treasures at Local Roots on Monday for a Lunar New Year party. Coming at you from all angles with rice noodle pancit, duck with fennel and saffron, black sesame cake and more, this all-star lineup is bound to run up the score. It’s a menu that will have you flying (appropriately) into the year of the dragon. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.

Kine Musubi
Upper West Side // Sundays

📸: @kinemusubi

It claims to be the first Hawaiian musubi pop-up in NYC which means the musubi you were eating here before wasn’t the real deal. So if Kine Musubi were to go head-to-head with other NYC musubi shops, it might look something like the Harlem Globetrotters taking on NBA All-Stars. With eight flavors including spam & egg, spam & pickled radish, plus spam & Hot Cheetos, we’re buying into the hype. Find all the info in the 💥 Pop-ups category on the 8it app.
